FSiix Resources sources and trades industrial Nitric Acid (HNO₃) produced by the Ostwald process — catalytic oxidation of ammonia over platinum–rhodium gauze, followed by absorption in water and, where required, dehydration with concentrated sulphuric acid. Supplied from certified Indian production across 60%, 64%, 68%, 72%, and 98% concentrated grades, our nitric acid meets IS 264 and international specifications for fertiliser manufacturing, metal pickling and finishing, explosives and nitration chemistry, and broader chemical synthesis, and moves under corrosive-cargo-compliant packing and transport worldwide.
FSiix's nitric acid programme is built on certified Indian manufacturing capacity, supplying 60%, 64%, 68%, and 72% dilute grades alongside 98% concentrated (dehydrated) acid from a single, audited source. The 68% azeotropic grade — the natural ceiling of straight water-absorption production — remains the workhorse concentration for most industrial buyers, while 72% and 98% grades are produced by further dehydration with concentrated sulphuric acid for nitration and oxidiser-grade applications.
Nitric acid's dual identity as a strong acid and a powerful oxidiser makes it foundational to fertiliser, explosives, metal treatment, and fine-chemical manufacturing. FSiix supplies every grade against IS 264 and buyer-specified assay limits, backed by batch certificates of analysis and corrosive/oxidiser-compliant packing for safe handling from loading to destination.
FSiix's nitric acid supply runs under continuous catalytic production and batch-certified quality control, from ammonia oxidation through to the graded, export-ready acid.
Ammonia gas is mixed with air and passed over a platinum–rhodium gauze catalyst at approximately 800–900°C, oxidising it to nitrogen monoxide (NO). The hot gas is rapidly cooled, allowing excess oxygen to convert NO to nitrogen dioxide (NO₂).
Nitrogen dioxide is passed through trickling absorption towers with counter-current water, forming dilute nitric acid at 50–60% concentration. Continued absorption and distillation raise this to the 60–68% azeotropic ceiling achievable by water-based absorption alone.
To reach 72% and 98% concentrated grades, the azeotropic acid is dehydrated by extractive distillation with concentrated sulphuric acid, which absorbs the excess water. Every batch is assayed for HNO₃ content, specific gravity, and impurity limits against IS 264 before certification and dispatch.
FSiix's nitric acid supplies fertiliser producers, metal finishers, and chemical manufacturers — matched to the grade each process calls for, from dilute 60% acid to 98% concentrated.
60%, 64%, 68%, 72%, and 98% concentrated grades from one certified Indian source mean customers can match the exact HNO₃ strength their process calls for without splitting orders across suppliers.
Every batch is assayed for HNO₃ assay, specific gravity, and impurity limits against IS 264 and buyer specifications, with certificates of analysis issued ahead of shipment.
Packing and transport are handled to UN 2031 corrosive/oxidiser requirements, with HDPE carboys, drums, IBCs, and ISO tank or bulk tanker options suited to each concentration.
Global nitric acid demand tracks the fertiliser cycle and industrial nitration capacity, with India among the largest producers and consumers worldwide on the back of its ammonium nitrate and NPK fertiliser industry, alongside steady demand from metal finishing and chemical synthesis.
Nitric acid pricing moves with ammonia feedstock costs, grade, and packing format, and varies meaningfully between the 60–68% commercial grades and the 72–98% dehydrated grades, so we don't publish a static reference price here — anything printed on a page would likely be stale within days.
