FSiix Resources sources and trades Grade A copper cathodes produced through Solvent Extraction and Electrowinning (SX/EW) — a hydrometallurgical route that delivers cathode purity comparable to conventional electrorefining without the high-temperature emissions of smelting. Drawing on production across the Copperbelt regions of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, our cathodes meet the Cu-CATH-1 Grade A standard under BS EN 1978:2022, ASTM B115-10, and China GB/T 467-2010, backed by full mill documentation and origin traceability for wire rod, alloy, electronics, and energy-infrastructure manufacturers.
Solvent Extraction and Electrowinning is a hydrometallurgical alternative to traditional smelting, used to produce roughly a fifth of the world's copper. Copper is leached from oxide ore into a pregnant leach solution, selectively extracted through an organic solvent, and plated onto stainless steel or titanium blanks at the electrowinning stage — producing dense, high-purity cathode sheets without the SO₂ emissions, slag, or converter gases associated with conventional pyrometallurgy.
FSiix draws on SX/EW and electrorefining capacity across the Central and Southern African Copperbelts, giving buyers a documented, multi-origin route to Grade A cathode as demand from electrification, grid infrastructure, and renewable energy build-out continues to outpace supply growth in the base metals complex.
FSiix's copper cathode network follows the SX/EW process, from acid leaching of oxide ore through to the finished, LME-deliverable cathode sheet.
Oxide ore is irrigated with a dilute sulfuric acid solution, dissolving copper into a Pregnant Leach Solution (PLS). Heap leaching percolates acid through crushed, stacked ore to improve recovery from lower-grade deposits.
The PLS is mixed with an organic extractant in mixer-settlers, selectively pulling copper ions away from impurities. The barren raffinate is recycled to the leach pad while the loaded organic phase is stripped to produce a pure electrolyte.
The purified electrolyte is pumped into electrowinning tankhouses, where direct current plates copper ions onto stainless steel or titanium blanks. Sheets are stripped, washed, weighed, and stacked into 125 kg cathodes ready for export.
Copper's conductivity and corrosion resistance keep it central to five industrial sectors experiencing the fastest structural demand growth in the base metals complex.
Every shipment is backed by mill certificates and assay documentation confirming Cu-CATH-1 purity against BS EN 1978:2022, ASTM B115-10, and GB/T 467-2010 standards.
Production spanning the DRC, Zambia, and Zimbabwe reduces single-source dependency and keeps availability steady across FSiix's African operating footprint.
Full export documentation — packing lists, certificates of origin, and mill certificates — coordinated around EUR-pallet configuration for smooth customs clearance and ocean freight.
Electrification, grid infrastructure upgrades, and renewable energy build-out are driving one of the strongest demand growth profiles in the base metals complex, with cathode benchmark prices tracking global supply-demand fundamentals in real time.
Copper cathode pricing moves with LME and regional benchmark references on a daily basis, and treatment and refining charge dynamics shift with smelter capacity and concentrate availability, so we don't publish a static reference price here — anything printed on a page would likely be stale within days.
